01 / Overview

The agreement between you and LineVerify.

LineVerify (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates lineverification.com and the LineVerify API. These terms apply when you create an account, buy checks or use the API. If you use LineVerify for a business, you are agreeing on its behalf.

Plain language on purpose. If something here is unclear, email us before you rely on it.

02 / Your account

What we expect from you.

One person, one account
Keep your password and API keys to yourself. Anything done with your account or keys counts as done by you.
Be who you say you are
Give us a working email address. We use it for sign-in codes, receipts and anything we have to tell you.
You can leave any time
Go to Account and choose Delete account. Your lists, results, keys and balance are removed immediately.

03 / Checks and payment

How checks, the free allowance and packs work.

One check covers one number or one email
A check is used when a lookup returns a result. Invalid results and lookups that error are not charged.
25 free checks a month
The free allowance refills on the first of each month and does not carry over.
Packs are one-time
Checks you buy never expire and are not refundable once bought, except where the law says otherwise. Buying a pack ends a comped allowance.
Prices can change
Changes apply to new purchases only. Checks you already have keep their value.

04 / Acceptable use

What you may and may not do with results.

Follow the calling laws
You are responsible for complying with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the FTC do-not-call rules, CAN-SPAM and any state law that applies to your outreach. Our results are information, not legal advice.
Only check contacts you are allowed to contact
Do not upload lists you obtained unlawfully or have no right to use.
Do not resell our data
Results are for your own outreach. Do not redistribute, resell or use them to build a competing service.
Do not break the service
No scraping, probing, overloading, or trying to get around limits, billing or the sandbox.

05 / The API

Keys, limits and changes.

Keys
Live keys use checks; sandbox keys return sample results and use none. Keep keys out of browser code and revoke any that leak.
Limits
100 requests a minute per key. We may change limits, endpoints or response fields; breaking changes get notice in the docs first.

06 / Your data

What we do with your lists.

Your lists and results stay yours. We process them only to run the checks you ask for, as described in the privacy policy, and we delete them when you delete the list or your account.

07 / The service

Availability, accuracy and limits of liability.

Availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not promise it. Maintenance, provider outages and things outside our control can interrupt the service.
Accuracy
Results come from carriers and data providers at the time of the check. They can be wrong or out of date, and we do not guarantee them.
Changes
We can change or retire features. If a change removes something you paid for, we tell you first.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect damages.

08 / Ending and changes

How either side can end this, and how these terms change.

By you
Delete your account at any time. Unused paid checks are not refunded.
By us
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, harms other customers or the service, or goes unpaid. Where we can, we warn you first.
These terms
We may update them. Material changes are emailed to you before they take effect, and continued use means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
